Comarch’s involvement in the Ultra-Wideband domain focuses on two main areas:
1. Official Test tools for certification and development
Comarch provides test tools used in the official FiRa consortium certification process. These tools ensure compliance and interoperability for UWB products focused on distance measurement use cases, and are also widely used by engineering teams for debugging and validation purposes. During development process, Comarch designed its own hardware platform with a custom MAC layer implementation and dedicated automated test framework tailored for debugging and certification needs. Currently, nearly all UWB module vendors use Comarch’s test solutions. Comarch FiRa test tools support test cases dedicated for Digital Key 3.0 and Aliro standards. As part of our roadmap, Comarch is now preparing the next generation of certification tools, dedicated to UWB Audio modules and devices.
2. Technical Consulting and development services for the UWB and wireless industries
Beyond certification, Comarch offers development and technical consultancy services to semiconductor companies and OEMs in both audio and industrial markets. We collaborate with module vendors as well as manufacturers developing UWB-enabled end products. Our expertise spans across a wide range of wireless communication protocols, with nearly two decades of experience in the development of advanced embedded systems. UWB represents one of the most dynamic and promising areas in our portfolio today. Comarch have a proven track record of supporting major semiconductor players such as Silicon Labs, Renesas, Packetcraft, and SPARK Microsystems. Comarch continues to be a trusted partner for companies seeking deep protocol-level knowledge and practical engineering capabilities. Our engineering teams are supporting clients’ resources or developing end to end projects on their own.

Exafore brings deep expertise in UWB-based systems, leveraging years of experience in developing advanced positioning systems. Exafore has developed Exafore Horizon, a Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) designed to scale with business needs. Horizon provides continuous, 24/7 coverage of critical location data for assets and personnel, ensuring reliable visibility across operations.
Exafore Horizon delivers high-precision indoor positioning with clear benefits for a variety of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. Utilizing ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, it enables real-time tracking of people, equipment, and inventory with decimeter level accuracy. This improves operational visibility, removes the need to search for things, minimizes human error, and streamlines workflows. With support for 3D positioning, Horizon is ideal for complex, multi-level facilities such as warehouses, production sites, or hospitals. Its secure, offline-capable design protects sensitive data, while rugged hardware options allow deployment in both industrial and office environments. Its scalability and straightforward installation make it a practical and cost-effective solution for growing organizations. Horizon’s battery-powered tags are designed for long-term use, with up to two years of battery life, helping reduce maintenance demands and total cost of ownership.
The system integrates easily with enterprise platforms—such as ERP, MES, or WMS—via a user-friendly API, enabling smooth data access. By transforming real-time location data into actionable insights, Exafore Horizon empowers organizations to enhance efficiency and make more informed decisions.
